Saigon Pt.2

The day after we returned from our sightseeing tour, we visited the Independence Palace which is open to the public for viewing.

There were a couple of military vehicles on the grounds.

There is a ‘Hash group’ in Ho Chi Minh City, they have a Hash once a month, we were fortunate to be able to attend. The last Hash we participated in was in Progreso, Mexico last winter.

The Hash House Harriers (HHH or H3) is an international group of Non-competitive game running social clubs. An event organized by a club is known as a Hash or Run, or a Hash Run. A common “Denominal verb” for this activity is Hashing, with participants calling themselves Hashers. Male members are referred to as Harriers, which females are known as Harriettes.

The Hash is humorously known as A Drinking Club With A Running Problem, with the preferred beverage of consumption being beer. (Wikipedia)

Out and about, walking the route, following the trail left Hare.
Time for a Beer Break.
Back on the trial.
Back at the Hash start.

As we walked back towards our hotel we noticed this restaurant, which sums up our day.

We came across a fresh coconut vendor, here is Stewart trying his hand at this line of work.

Anybody want grilled Octopus on a stick?
