Manitoba South and West of Winnipeg

We left Kenora for Winnipeg stopping at the Centre of Canada (The halfway mark across the country), then on to Winnipeg where we would visit with Stewart’s uncle Nick and his wife Ilona for the long weekend.

After our visit, we went to The Forks riverside Park in downtown Winnipeg, this is where the Assiniboine River joins the Red River. We strolled along the river, crossed over into St. Boniface and back across on the Trans-Canada Highway bridge, to the Manitoba Legislature and back to The Forks. See below.

From here we headed to a Walmart on the south end of Winnipeg to spend the night and grab a bite to eat in a local restaurant.
Next morning, we travelled to a Trappist Monastery located just south of the Winnipeg city limits.

From here we crossed the highway to St. Norbert Provincial Heritage Park.
