Hanoi

From the Hao Lo Prison we went to a coffee shop where they invented Egg Coffee. It does not sound appetizing but was surprisingly good, tastes like Creme Brulee.

Egg Coffee.

Many of the residential buildings here are tall about 6-7M/20-23 ft. wide.

While out on one of our walks we came across this maze of cables, how they know where they lead to is mind boggling.

As we wondered around, we would come across what we would call alley’s. Surprisingly most of these alley’s were full of businesses and restaurants.

Many of the larger tall hotels have, what are called ‘Sky Bars’ these are bars that are located on the roof of the building, the height being determined by the number of floors in the building. We found a bar that looked interesting and decided go there one evening after dinner for an aperitif, this is a modern city with many buildings lite up at night.

There is a night market every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Old Quarter, there is anything you could want.

Next day we want to visit the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi, this was around 4km/2.5miles from our hotel which was nice walk into Hanoi proper. When we arrived, the museum was closed but the grounds where the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is located was open to the public. From the looks of his home, he did not live a lavish life style.

The main Boulevard running past the Mausoleum.
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
Ho Chi Minh’s residence.

There is also a Buddhist temple on the property.

Backing onto the Ho Chi Minh boulevard we found the Canadian Consulate.

Along the walk back we stopped at a small park with a statue of Vladimir Lenin.

This would be our last night in Hanoi before we caught a flight to Da Nang where we intended to rent an apartment for the next few months to base ourselves.

Next: Da Nang

  1. azealtobereal – New Earth – My character in this particular incarnation - life movie - live action drama / romantic comedy, etc. was born into an insane family where life was filled with fear. She was mentally abused and emotionally abandoned while still in the womb - although to date there is no proof of that. It is true however, that she was unable to express any sentiment or voice an opinion whatsoever growing up for fear of creating, or potentially adding to, the tension, chaos, confusion and yes sometimes abject terror already making the family dynamic intolerable. Thus her personality became a rebel of mighty proportions with wild abandon from the early age of 12. This lead to a life of travel, sex, drugs and rock and roll until about the age of 40. This of course created major dysfunction and depression through her adult life causing ill health due to her intense anger and resentment for the human race in general, the fall out being many, many failed relationships left lying around like corpses on the battle field of her existence! Now in her 50's she has had many months to examine this wild and crazy life from the vantage point of being fairly disabled with chronic pain, that has yet to be medically diagnosed. It's all good though because now she has time to express her incredible Zeal to be Real! This character has a dark, twisted, zany, warped sense of humor that is craving an anonymous format in which to express whatever thoughts and feelings her deeply flawed human psyche dreams up. I hope you enjoy these random rants, musings, quotes, inspirations, comedy, intrigue and brutal truths happening NOW as various realities in different frequencies or dimensions / time lines. This cosmic soul has been around my friends ... she's been around. Stay tuned cuz' it's going to get really interesting! I look forward to your comments and would ask that you keep them thoughtful and respectful. I've had enough of the 3D bullshit from humans who don't have a fucking clue about life who spew their ignorant, judgmental views of conformity, like the media brainwashed sheeple they (possibly you) are, to last many lifetimes. Therefore, I absolutely will not tolerate any of it here. Nuff said. Mahalo - Love - Peace - Blessings, Atara Dawn
