We left the USA and entered Mexico at the Tijuana crossing. This took us about an hour to clear customs, they put our Rig through the huge vehicle X-Ray machine, once cleared we went and applied for out 180day tourist visa, paid our $25US dollars each and we were on our way south to Rosarito, Baja California, where we found a camp spot using iOverlander at Armando’s, backing right onto the beach. We added our third country flag to the back of our camper.
We spent the rest of the day strolling in town, found a beach bar where we ordered a Margarita to celebrate being in Baja California, our third country of our travels. After our celebratory drink we took a walk along the beach where we found a lady serving Ceviche in a huge paper cup which we shared, we also ordered two fish tacos and a cerveza each.
Next morning, we decided to continue south to Ensenada where we filled up our fresh water tank before continuing down to La Jolla Beach where we camped for three nights and met a really nice couple Sylvia and Fernando. At this campsite on the beach at low tide you could dig a large hole and it would fill with hot thermal water which would need to be cooled with some sea water, making your own hot tub.
When we left we continued to La Bufadora (The Blowhole) which was at the end of the peninsula just another 8kms/5miles where we took in the sites and had some delicious seafood lunch before heading over to San Filipe located on the Sea of Cortez.
