Once again it was time to leave Vietnam to renew our visa, this time we chose to travel to Bangkok.
We arrived around noon and headed to our hotel to drop off our luggage. We decided to take a stroll to get our bearings, we were staying on the edge of the tourist area called Sukhumvit. We were a little hungry so found a local restaurant for a bite to eat and sample a local beer.
That night we walked into the entertainment area for dinner and see some of the sights, we found a street that is full of restaurants, bars and adult entertainment (not really our thing) but it was a happening place.
We also tried another local beer, this time we had a jug of draught before finding somewhere to have dinner.
Next morning it was off to Chinatown for some Dim Sum for breakfast by Tuk-Tuk.
We walked around Chinatown, visiting the local markets etc.
From here we headed to Yodpiman River Walk, this is where there is a huge flower market, they make all kinds of items with the flowers.
Along the way we came across this small shrine decorated with flowers.
We decided to walk back along the Riverfront before catching a ferry to our nearest dock.
That night we ventured out to Nana Plaza, this is strictly an adult entertainment area, to enter you must go through security like at the airport😊
We found a seat in the central bar area and ordered a beer. Cat was in her glory people-watching all the Ladyboys etc. and all the ongoing antics. Stew on the other hand was watching the Formula 1 qualifying on the big screen.
Bangkok has some interesting monuments and buildings.
We stumbled across this very nice small Temple and a Mosque.
We found a place that sold cold beer and cool down from our walk.
There is a very nice large park in the center of town called Lumphini Park which we visited one afternoon. There are Monitor Lizards in the waterways within the park which had a neat Sundial.
There is a major Temple here that we decided to visit called Wat Pho. We stopped at the Drum Tower along the way.
We also had some interesting local food while here.
Next: Heading Home.
