Loreto

Leaving Mulege we stocked up on water and groceries and continued south on MX1 to Playa El Requeson located in the Bahia de Concepcion, this was only about 20kms/12miles south of Mulege. Upon arrival we set up camp and made some Guacamole and Pico de Gillo, cracked out the olives, cheese and Salami and had some lunch.

After a couple of days here we continued to Loreto where we set up camp at Riviera Del Mar. As Christmas was in a couple of days we stayed for 4 nights. While here we met up with Al & Cathy, then Jim and Sue joined us. We set up our outdoor kitchen and assembled our bicycles. First night there we BBQ’d steak and Lobster, Christmas Eve breakfast was pancakes with maple syrup and fresh fruit salad and for dinner we went into town and had pizza. Christmas day not much was open so we went for a bike ride down the Malacon.

Loreto from the spit at the south end of town looking towards the Malacon.

From here we rode across the floodway to the other side of town where some young local girls found Catherine’s bike interesting.

We then visited the local Mission.

After riding about 8kms/5miles we headed back to camp to prepare Christmas dinner. Prosecco was order of the day for Catherine, Stefan and Thomas before starting dinner.

There was also a very nice sunset.

For dinner Stephan made Roulading and Catherine made Rustic Mash Potatoes.
