Back to Las Paz

From here Thomas & Stefan wanted to head back up north to see whales in a small boat. We on the other hand found out we had an issue with our fridge/freezer so headed back to Playa Las Viudas where we had access to marina’s in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. It was a Sunday so we where limited to what would be open. Therefore, we headed over to Walmart and purchased four Styrofoam coolers to load our groceries into and turned off all power to the appliance. Next day we called our camper (Mark) and fridge manufacturer for some advise on the problem as it appeared the compressor was not working. As it turns out Mark had a contact in La Paz that could possibly help us so next morning, we packed up and headed back to La Paz and camped at Campestre Maranatha again.

Once camped Stewart pulled out the fridge/freezer as per the manufacturers recommendations. We checked all connections etc. we then turned the power back on and the compressor started and the fridge/freezer started to cool down and work properly, go figure???

That afternoon Ken, Angie, Keela & Cash turned up and later in the day Thomas & Stefan arrived for a couple of days. Next day everyone did their own thing regrouping for the evening. Both Ken & family and Thomas & Stefan were heading over the mainland the next day to different ports. We had a great night and our last supper together on Baja before we all went our different ways.

Bon-voyage to our friends, hope to see you down the road.

As everyone headed to their various ferry appointment we stocked up with groceries and headed back to Playa Tecolote for four or five days where we ran into Jim & Sue again, whom we celebrated Christmas with. They also had their daughter and son-in-law visiting. There were also lots of European rigs here this time. Chris and Niki were also tucked away in a far corner of the beach protected from the wind.

While here we cycled over to Playa Bandera for a couple of hours, found ourselves a palapa and enjoyed the beach, this time the bugs were not biting.

See our bikes under the palapa.

After we ran out of groceries we went back into La Paz to restock before travelling down to Los Barriles.
